How Safe is Renault Kiger?

For safety and security, the new Renault Kiger gets six airbags, front seat belts with load limiter, seat belt with pretensioner, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS and EBD with brake assist, electronic stability program, traction control system and hill launch assist.

Renault Triber and Kiger are based on the same CMF-A modular platform, and the former gets a 5-star crash test safety rating from GNCAP. We expect the new Kiger will also receive 5-star safety rating.

Specifications

The new Kiger is available with two petrol engine options, including a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder NA and a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, turbo. The naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine churns out 99bhp of power and 160Nm of torque when paired to a manual gearbox. The torque drops to 152Nm when engine is coupled to a CVT automatic unit. Both powertrains come with ECO Mode, which helps in achieving high fuel efficiency.
